First, Greg Bennett CPA, PA was founded by none other than…Greg Bennett.  We have a rather original name, don’t you think?  Anyway, the company was founded in 2001 after Greg acquired another accounting firm.  The team at GBCPA offers more than 60 years in cumulative experience!

As mentioned on our “Home” page, our clients are not just clients.  They are our community friends (and we actually are friends with them–it is not just a marketing ploy!) and business partners.  It is our relationship with the community that has resulted in our standing as a leading provider of accounting, tax, management, and consulting services.  You may find it odd we say “management,” but it is true–we offer management services outside the realm of accounting.  Because we refuse audit work, we are able to fully integrate into the businesses and lives of community friends.

We are not limited to just Hilton Head Island.  We also contribute to Bluffton, Beaufort, and other surrounding locations.

Think small town personalization with modern, advanced processes typically reserved for big-city business.  Personalized service is generally a lost art, but not with us.  We will actually answer the phone whenever physically possible and unless we are in a meeting, you will virtually always be able to instantly speak to any of our team members without having to wait for a callback.  This is our promise and our number one core value.  Our unofficial motto is “large enough to serve you via a breadth of experience yet small enough to always care.”

Our accounting services generally utilize the Premier or Enterprise editions of Quickbooks and the Premier Accountant edition of Peachtree.  We do not believe in using accounting software that is not within reach of every business and individual.  Our ethics are high, and it seems rather unfair to effectively trap clients (after all, you should never “trap” a friend) by using industry exclusive software that is far too costly for the average small business or individual.  As said, we are business partners and partners watch out for each other.

Furthermore, we serve primarily local businesses, from non-profits to developers to retail and distribution centers.  Flexibility is another item on our list of core values.  Today’s environment demands continuous change—why should we not be equally fluid?  Our firm exists to help YOU in ways you may not currently imagine.  In many instances, our firm represents a company’s entire accounting department (and, in some instances, managing personnel).  In a few cases, the businesses have their own bookkeepers on staff and we oversee their work, effectively acting as independent yet still highly integrated CFOs and Controllers. You can host your own accounting database and we can work remotely or within your own office.  Alternatively, we can keep your files on our secure server with built-in redundancy—a common occurrence, particularly when our friends do not need regular access to their records.  Flexibility—it is beautiful!
